The storm, which first targeted northern suburbs like Boulder and Broomfield, gradually crept south-southeast, bringing its fury to Thornton, Commerce City, and eventually Denver and Aurora. As the storm intensified, residents were warned of golf ball-sized hail and even larger stones, reaching tennis and baseball proportions in some areas.
